Troubleshooting VAL 5 Errors
VAL 5 means Vanguard stopped talking to Riot's servers. PingShift only routes Valorant traffic, so this usually comes from another program on your PC or Vanguard needing a clean restart. Try the steps below before you open a ticket.
Connect in PingShift first
Open the desktop app, pick your region, and hit Connect. Wait until the status shows connected. Then launch Valorant from the Riot Client like you normally would.
Turn off other VPNs and network tools
Close any other VPN, proxy, or "game booster" that installs its own network driver. Two programs fighting over your connection is the most common cause of VAL 5 with routing software.
Restart Valorant and Vanguard
Quit Valorant completely (check the system tray for the Riot icon). Open the Riot Client, launch the game again, and wait through the Vanguard load screen. If VAL 5 keeps showing up, restart your PC and connect in PingShift before you open Valorant.
Send us your diagnostics
Right-click the PingShift tray icon and choose Copy routing diagnostics. Paste that into a Discord support ticket so we can see your tunnel status and recent logs.
